Northern Pass Messaging
Helping conservation organizations and activists spread their message
CLIENT | Lewis Family Conservation Foundation
THE PROJECT
Several large electric utility companies have proposed to build a high voltage transmission line to bring Canadian hydro energy into the Boston market primarily through overhead lines through 185 miles of some of northern New Hampshire’s most scenic mountains and vistas.
OUR ROLE
Many organizations and individuals are strenuously opposed to this project due to its high environmental costs and low local benefits. We helped these organizations and individuals develop a common message and coordinated campaign that delivered over 12,000 signatures on a petition to New Hampshire’s Governor.
TAKEAWAY
A campaign to influence a major development project supported by powerful multinational organizations is more effective when disparate organizations coordinate their message and strategy.
